(COTE D'OR-DOUBS-21-25) Louis DENIS (1725–1794) – “The Road to Strasbourg via Nancy...” - 18th century. Engraving enhanced with watercolour on laid paper by Louis Denis in 1777, published in his famous collection of maps entitled *Le Conducteur français*. Engraved by Chalmandrier. The map begins at the fortified city of Strasbourg, passes through the Vosges enclave (Phalsbourg) and ends at Nancy, capital of the Dukes of Lorraine (via the present-day Avenue de Strasbourg), following the course of the River Meurthe.
