(HISTORY) T.C. REGNAULT (1823–1871) – “The Home, Art & School – Twelve portraits of illustrious contemporary ladies, distinguished by their merits” – 1866. Original copperplate engraving, chiselled by hand, on Colombier in-quarto Chinese paper, featuring the portrait and caption of Madame de Lamartine. A periodical dating from 1714, published once, twice or three times a quarter. The twelve portraits in the journal are accompanied by “twelve captions by various highly esteemed authors”. Caption by M.L. de Ronchaud. Published by Editions populaires (1866), printed by L. Toinon & Cie. “This publication was not officially published. Only a few rare copies were printed.” (185 x 280 mm). Condition B. Stains and signs of handling; a tear at the fold on the spine of the journal.
