(CARICATURE) Alfred LE PETIT (1841–1809) – ‘Auguste Guillaume and his Auguste Augusta’ – 19th century. A caricature from the Franco-Prussian War depicting the King of Prussia (future Emperor of Germany) William I and his wife, Queen Augusta of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach. A pre-print engraving, hand-coloured using a stencil on fine paper, by Alfred Le Petit. Second sheet, identical print on fine blue paper. (370 x 280 mm) – Condition A-: Slight creases.
