Fragment of a Dogon sculpture. Mali. Very hard wood, partly eroded, with a very old, grey, crusty patina. H: 27 cm. Depicting two figures (Nommos) with their arms raised towards the sky and pressed close together. Although heavily worn, this sculpture is still clearly recognisable and remains an interesting testament to this ancient culture. Provenance - Formerly in the collection of Jean Marie GIBBAL, researcher at the CNRS Expert: Bruno FREY. Expert at the CEA.
