Mr Osman Nuri İyem has confirmed the authenticity of this work following photographic examination. A certificate of authenticity may be issued at the purchaser’s expense. A Turkish painter, Nuri Iyem is a leading figure in 20th-century Turkish painting. Following an academic training, his work evolved towards a synthesis of figuration and abstraction, but he remains best known for his expressive portraits of women with a melancholic gaze and posture, imbued with emotional depth, as suggested by the work we are presenting.
