FEMALE STATUETTE
carved from wood in the round. She stands naked, with her legs and arms held close to her body, straight and in line with it. She wears a wig depicted as rows of triangles.
Presumed to be from Ancient Egypt, presumably the Middle Kingdom, circa 2133–1797 BC.
Height: 16.3 cm

Provenance:
– Collection of Albert Ceysens (1877–1956), managing director of the Cairo Sugar Company (Egypt), who died there.
– Collection of Suzanne Ceysens (1914–2003), daughter of the above, who left Egypt in 1952 to settle in Belgium.
