The body is decorated with a frieze alternating stylised escarboucles and fleur-de-lis discs in fleurons against a turquoise background, with a lapis blue underlay. The conical lid features the same alternating motifs. The interior is gilded, with a slightly concave base. France, Limoges, mid-13th century.
