AVAR-KHAZAR SABRE
Slightly curved tang, thick blade
also curved with a flat back
and a reverse edge.
Gilded bronze guard
with two slightly curved quillons ending
in balls and a central geometric motif.
Four fittings, comprising:
- A wrought-iron pommel.
- Two fittings made of cut silver leaf,
including the scabbard cap
and a repoussé element yet to be identified.
- Probable pommel ornament in silver leaf.
Elements from the same provenance corresponding to the sabre’s dimensions (with the exception of the repoussé piece).
