Description:
A rare item in collections. Among similar examples found in contemporary writings, we may cite the depiction of the Adoration of the Magi by Jean Fouquet in the Hours of Étienne Chevalier, 1452–1461, Chantilly, Musée Condé.
An illuminated manuscript depicting, in the first left-hand panel, archers equipped with weapons similar to ours. In the top left-hand panel, a star with its rays pointing towards Charles VII illuminates a battle, attributed to the victory at Castillon over the English in 1453.
