LARGE ENAMELLED PLAQUE A rectangular plaque of polychrome painted enamel on a slightly embossed rectangular copper plate. The Transverberation of Saint Teresa of Ávila depicted within an oval, with spandrels featuring foliage motifs in slight relief and a cartouche below inscribed ‘SAINTE * THERESE’. Highlights in painted gold. Black reverse enamel signed in gold paint: ‘Bte nouaiLher / à Limoges’ Baptiste Nouailher (1699–1775), Limoges, 18th century.  Height: 25.3 cm – Width: 20.7 cm Set in a contemporary carved and gilded wooden frame.
