Description
1910s LONG NECKLACE WITH RUBY, DIAMOND AND CULTURED PEARL POMPON It consists of a large pompon with a miniature crown-shaped base, entirely set with old-cut diamonds and calibrated rubies. The dome is formed of a ruby cabochon. It is suspended from a bailiff’s chain terminating in an arched bail, four oval motifs and a clasp in white gold and platinum. A mesh of cultured pearls and pearl tassels. Traces of a French master’s hallmark. Gross weight: 71.69 gr. Height of the tassel: 6.5 cm. Length of the bail chain: 58 cm. Case from Maison Fred. In the 1950s, Maison Fred restored this long necklace and its tassel by supplying this set of cultured pearls, a field in which it was one of the leading specialists. The jewellery motifs and the tassel date from the 1910s; the clasp is a later addition. A long necklace and tassel set featuring diamonds, rubies, 18K white gold and platinum, circa 1910. Traces of a French hallmark. Gross weight: 71.69 gr. Tassel height: 6.5 cm. Chain length: 58 cm. (Restored by Fred Paris circa 1950, using cultured pearls, in which they were leading specialists at that time. The jewellery design and the tassel date from around 1910; the clasp is of a later period).
