Roger CAILLOIS and Raoul UBAC. *Pierres réfléchies*. Paris, Maeght, 1975. Large square folio, tab-bound, black morocco leather, plain spine, title in palladium, covers adorned with a black geometric pattern inlaid with pieces of leather and various fabrics, black silk linings, grey suede endpapers, entirely untrimmed, filled cover and spine preserved, Plexiglas slipcase (Florent Rousseau, 2007). First edition. Limited edition of 225 copies on Arches vellum paper, signed by the author and the painter (no. 87). The illustrations comprise a black-and-white composition on the title page and 14 original etchings by Raoul Ubac, including 2 within the text and 12 full-page plates. Remarkable mosaic binding by Florent Rousseau, decorated to complement Raoul Ubac’s illustrations.
