In-12 booklet, stapled, with a black half-calf slipcase.
First edition.
Two print runs were produced, both on newsprint: a standard run of approximately 150 copies and a limited run of 15 numbered copies.
“Dubuffet’s first true book, written in the phonetic and colourful style he favoured, illustrated, printed and published by him” (Antoine Coron). It is illustrated with 10 engravings set against a background of Camembert and shoe polish tins, linoleum and veneer strips.
A precious copy belonging to Henri Michaux, with this autograph dedication signed at the top of the title page:
