In-16 booklet, ivory half-box, hinged covers, each made of wooden slats, with inlaid ebony strips, title in green lettering on the front cover, mauve suede linings, untrimmed, original brown printed paper cover retained, rigid case made of wooden slats (Antonio P.N.). A friend of Jean Paulhan, André Rolland de Renéville (1903–1962) was associated with René Daumal and *Le Grand Jeu*. He was one of Henri Michaux’s friends and ‘great readers’: Michaux recommended him to the NRF in 1932 to review *Un certain Plume* in place of Michel Leiris, whom Paulhan had proposed but whom Michaux did not know. Superb hinged binding by Antonio Perez-Noriega.
