Paul ÉLUARD. Two autograph poems sent to Joë Bousquet. [Arosa Sanatorium, 3 May 1928]. 2 pages in-4 on a double-leaf sheet of squared paper (marked folds); one envelope. Autograph poetic manuscripts. Two poems which Éluard would include in the collection *L’Amour la Poésie* (1929) and which are here offered to Bousquet, editor of the journal *Chantiers*, with a signed autograph note: “If you like these two poems, I’ll give them to you. When will you write to me?” ‘Ses yeux sont des trous de lumière’ (His eyes are holes of light), poem II of the first part entitled ‘Premièrement’, was published in pre-print form in *Chantiers* in February 1929. ‘Armure de proie’, poem IV from *Comme une image*, the third part of the same collection. Handwritten deletions or corrections on five lines. (Éluard, *Œuvres complètes I*, Bibliothèque de la Pléiade, I, pp. 229 and 256.)
