In-8, taupe slipcase, plain spine, with a geometric mosaic design in relief on the covers, edges gilt on endpapers, cover and spine preserved, slipcase (Pierre Lucien Martin, 1972).
First edition.
Copper-engraved portrait of Paul Éluard by Marcoussis as frontispiece. One of the 35 limited-edition copies on Montval laid paper (no. II).
A copy from the library of J.P. Guillaume, accompanied by a letter addressed to him by the bookbinder Pierre-Lucien Martin on 25 January 1972: “Dear Sir, *Les Lingères légères* is ready… At your disposal.” (J.P. Guillaume sale, 1995, lot 172.) Title reproduced on the frontispiece; spine of the cover worn.
