The publication of this volume of memoirs coincided with the exhibition organised by the Centre Georges Pompidou from June to October 1988, following the donation made by Jacqueline and Bernard Gheerbrant.
One of 85 copies printed on Lana chiffon vellum, the sole deluxe edition, accompanied by an original etching signed by Pierre Alechinsky (no. 67).
In the chapter ‘Un homme seul, Henri Michaux’ (pp. 100–105), Bernard Gheerbrant discusses, amongst others, Jacques-Olivier Fourcade, the poet’s friend and the underground publisher of *Nous deux encore*.
