Square in-12, paperback, padded cover, slipcase, marbled paper case. First edition: illustrated with 13 photolithographs by Jean Dubuffet, printed separately from the text. Written in ‘Paralloïdre’, a jargon invented by Jean Dubuffet’s secretary, André Martel (1893–1976), the work was printed by Pierre Bettencourt. (J. Dubuffet, *Prospectus et tous écrits suivants II*, pp. 74–75.- Dubos, *Les Désordres de la mémoire*, 1998, pp. 110–111.) A single print run of 75 copies on Arches paper (no. 59). A long, autograph-signed letter to Marcel Béalu: This Monday the twelfth of / last month, in the Vinchênes of / Lutetia / To Marciel / du Bel Allus, / as attested by this admirer / this djinginesque soul / André Martel / known as the Martélandre / papafol of the Paralloïdre A poet and fellow traveller of the Surrealists, Marcel Béalu (1908–1993) was also the founder of the bookshop Le Pont traversé.
