Henri MICHAUX. Untitled [1946–1948]. Original watercolour and ink on paper (55.5 x 36.5 cm), signed, framed. A large and spectacular original signed watercolour: it was featured in the exhibition organised at the Drouin Gallery in 1948 and is reproduced as a full-page illustration in the catalogue. It was acquired at the Point Cardinal in 1978 by Catherine and François Trèves and bears, on the reverse, labels from the various exhibitions in which it has been shown: the Henri Michaux exhibition at Westkunst, Cologne, 1981 (cat. no. 320), Seibu, Tokyo, 1983 (cat. no. 26 and reproduction on p. 53), the tribute to Michaux at Beaulieu Abbey in Rouergue, 1985, the exhibitions *L’Écriture griffée* at the Musée d’Art Moderne in Saint-Étienne, 1990–1991 (cat. no. 187) and *Passions privées* (1995, no. 2, reproduced on p. 335). It was also featured in the BnF exhibition *Henri Michaux*, 1999, no. 142 (reproduced on p. 115).
