Description
Henri MICHAUX. *Aventures de lignes*. No place or date [Geneva and Paris, 1954]. Bifolium in-4, soft slipcase within a hardback slipcase by S Evrard. First edition. Offprint (pages 5–8) of the foreword to Will Grohmann’s *Paul Klee*, published in 1954: only 20 copies are said to have been printed. The book was published by Éditions des Trois Collines in Geneva and Librairie Flinker in Paris. “The bookseller, publisher and gallery owner Karl Flinker (1923–1991) was quite close to Michaux. […] From the 1950s until his death, his gallery on Rue de Tournon was one of the most discreet and inventive in Paris. In 1959, he published *Paix dans les brisements*, followed by *Vents et Poussières*” (Michaux, *Œuvres complètes II*, Pléiade, p. 1191). Autograph copy signed at the top, beneath the title: Aventures de Lignes trajets de lignes in homage to Madame Jacques Teynier, with fond memories from H. Michaux Distinct horizontal crease.
