Description

Henri MICHAUX. Parcours. Paris, Le Point Cardinal, [1966]. Folio-sized suite, in loose sheets, in the publisher’s brown cloth slipcase with a title label glued to the top flap. First edition with a preface by René Bertelé. Limited edition of 70 copies, numbered and signed by Jean Hugues (no. 35). A suite of 12 original black etchings by Henri Michaux, all numbered and signed. “As with *Mouvements* back in 1951, it was Bertelé who had the idea of organising these plates, engraved by Michaux in 1965 (as he recalls in his introductory text), into a unique book, or a portfolio, and of suggesting to Jean Hugues, Michaux’s gallery owner, that an exhibition be organised around them as well” (Pléiade II, p. 1584).
