HERMES. ‘Cape Cod’ wristwatch (PM): Ref. CC1.210. Steel case (approx. 33 x 23 mm, including lugs). Square silver-coloured dial, Arabic numerals, luminescent hands and hour markers. Signed and numbered. 901001 quartz movement. Screw-down case back. Double-wrap Hermès jute leather strap with white topstitching (worn), signed steel pin buckle. Wrist circumference approx. 15 cm (adjustable). Showing signs of wear. No box or papers. Created in 1991 by designer Henri d’Origny, the Hermès Cape Cod has become an icon of contemporary watchmaking. Its square case, set within a rectangle softened by rounded corners, is inspired by the Chaîne d’Ancre link, Hermès’ signature motif. The Hermès Cape Cod watch takes its name from the famous, upmarket peninsula on the east coast of the United States, in Massachusetts, and evokes the maritime world and the relaxed elegance of this American seaside resort.
