CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN. Pair of “Galativi 100” heels: in fishnet and nude leather. Pointed toe. 10cm stiletto heel, original red sole. Size 38. In perfect condition. Included are a pair of brand-new heel caps, two dust bags and a Louboutin box. Launched as part of the Spring/Summer 2020 collection, the Galativi model was designed to reinterpret the classic pointed-toe stiletto with a unique play on transparency. The interplay of materials: It combines leather with a fine mesh. The transparent mesh frames the foot, creating a visual ‘nude’ or ‘second-skin’ illusion, accentuated by the Nude colour. The silhouette: Featuring a pronounced arch and a 100 mm (10 cm) stiletto heel, it offers an elongated and slender silhouette. This pair is particularly striking with its classic, luminous smooth leather finish. The PK5S Nude colourway accentuates the illusion of nudity created by the fishnet, whilst retaining the structure and support of a traditional stiletto. The whole look is, of course, enhanced by the unmistakable signature feature: the red lacquered ‘Loubi’ leather outsole. A little secret about the famous Louboutin red sole: The origin of the red sole (1993): Two years after opening his first Parisian boutique in 1991, Christian Louboutin was working on a prototype for a shoe inspired by Pop Art. Finding the black sole too heavy for his taste, he grabbed his assistant’s red nail varnish and painted the sole with it. The instant contrast became the brand’s global signature. The term ‘Rouge Loubi’ refers to the exact shade of lacquered red that adorns the underside of every Christian Louboutin shoe. It is the brand’s signature red, which has become one of the world’s most recognisable symbols of luxury.
