HERMES Paris. Printed silk twill carré, titled ‘Les léopards’: in shades of red on a white background, with a wide black border. Designed by Christiane Vauzelles. Label. 87 x 88 cm. Small stains and pulled threads. Hermès box. This iconic design features four majestic red leopards, surrounded by floral motifs. Originally created in 1967 by the French illustrator Christiane Vauzelles to adorn a simple beach towel, the design proved so successful that Hermès later decided to adapt it for its iconic silk twill carré.
