LOUIS VUITTON. “Batignolles Horizontal” bag: in Monogram canvas and natural leather, carabiner clasp, side fastening straps, double handles. Monogrammed ‘LT’ on a fastener. Brown canvas interior, opening into a single compartment with a zipped pocket and a mobile phone pocket, gold-tone metal fittings. Numbered. H25 x W39 x 13.5 cm. Wear to the corners, patinated natural leather, a few stains, signs of wear. Dust bag and Vuitton invoice. Launched in the mid-2000s (around 2005) under the artistic direction of Marc Jacobs, the Louis Vuitton Batignolles bag was created to meet the needs of an urban clientele seeking a practical, elegant and lightweight everyday tote. In keeping with the house’s tradition of naming its bags after iconic Parisian locations (such as the Alma, the Seine or Montorgueil), the bag takes its name from the Batignolles neighbourhood (in the 17th arrondissement).
