JEROME DREYFUSS. ‘Lulu’ M bag in ecru grained leather: magnetic fastening under the flap, a gold chain handle interwoven with leather (adjustable in length) and a wide embossed leather shoulder strap. Beige canvas interior, one large compartment and one zipped inner pocket. A small pocket under the flap. A key loop inside the bag. H 18 x W 24 x D 9 cm. Dust bag. In good overall condition, with a small mark on the inside. A brief history of the three studs or rivets on Dreyfuss bags: When he first started out in the early 2000s, designer Jérôme Dreyfuss did not have significant resources for manufacturing his first prototypes. To keep costs down, he did not add inner linings to his bags. He therefore used metal through-rivet fastenings to join the leather pieces directly together. The heads of these rivets were therefore fully visible from the outside. On the Lulu model, these three rivets, positioned on the sides of the flap or at the shoulder strap attachments, are not merely there for aesthetic purposes: They reinforce the areas of tension where the leather is under the most strain when the bag is worn (the flap’s attachment points and the chain/shoulder strap fastenings).
