Launched in 1972, this watch was initially conceived as a limited edition of 1,000 pieces; AP ultimately produced 6,050 pieces. Appearing on the market for the first time, our example comes directly from its original owner. It belongs to the earliest production generations, as evidenced in particular by its dial featuring the AP logo applied at 6 o’clock – a feature particularly sought after by collectors. This watch belongs to the A series. In the history of Audemars Piguet, reference 5402 holds iconic status as the very first Royal Oak in the lineage.
