In the reference work *Le Temps de Cartier*, written by Jader Barracca, Giampiero Negretti and Franco Nencini, several timepieces featuring stylised lugs known as ‘Obus’ are reproduced on pages 122 and 123. Dating from 1923–1924, they reflect a design deeply inspired by imagery from the First World War. This is combined here with a dial featuring Arabic numerals, the style of which is more reminiscent of the late 1930s.

CONDITION REPORT:
Movement in working order at the time of catalogue compilation. Case well preserved, with perfectly legible numbering, showing a few micro-scratches and signs of wear. Eagle-head hallmark visible. The dial is weathered and discoloured, showing marked signs of ageing: the railway-track minute track is partially worn away, the word ‘France’ is faded at 6 o’clock, and there are areas where material is missing and various visible imperfections. Several watchmaker’s marks are present on the inside of the case back. Movement number engraved on the case back. Servicing recommended.
