CARTIER Tank Solo ‘Piano’ Ref. 3169 No. 710879QX Circa 2010 Stainless steel wristwatch Case: rectangular, winding crown set with a cabochon spinel, screw-down clasp, signed Dial: opaline, stylised Roman numerals, signed Movement: quartz cal. 690, signed Clasp: folding clasp, signed Dimensions: 27 x 25 mm A stainless steel quartz wristwatch with a Cartier folding clasp. Introduced in the mid-2000s, the Tank Solo offers a more minimalist and contemporary interpretation of the classic Tank. Reference 3169, corresponding to the large model, went on sale in 2009 and remained in the catalogue until 2021, when Cartier chose to withdraw the Tank Solo from its collections in order to relaunch the Tank Must. Our example features a ‘Piano’ dial, a highly graphic variation that is particularly rare on the market. Introduced in the mid-2000s, the Tank Solo offered a more minimalist and contemporary interpretation of the classic Tank. Reference 3169, corresponding to the large model, was launched in 2009 and remained in the collection until 2021, when Cartier decided to discontinue the Tank Solo line in order to relaunch the Tank Must.
