A rare set, uniformly bound, comprising the three journeys of Doctor Syntax, illustrated with three large hand-painted colour title vignettes and 78 hand-painted aquatint plates (watercolour and gouache). Slight foxing.
First edition of *The Second Tour* and *The Third Tour*. The first volume bears a reference to a third edition, undated, but certainly published at the same time as *The Second Tour*, in 1820.
