A Louis XV period TOMBED COMMODE in rosewood and violetwood with a diamond shape opening to 5 drawers on 3 rows, stamped by Charles CHEVALLIER (1700-1771, received master before 1738). Royal Belgian red marble top. Ornamentation of gilded bronzes (brought back) with sea horses, palmette, foliage, cartouches and rocaille: hands, keyhole escutcheons, base-lamp, falls and sabots. 83 x 131 x 65 cm (small cracks in the veneer).
