Description
EARLY 19TH-CENTURY JEWELLERY DISPLAY CASE THAT BELONGED TO THE COUNTESS OF DURAT
Comprising two tiaras in openwork gilded metal, adorned with faceted coral beads (minor imperfections), a necklace of yellow gold medallions set with faceted garnets in a closed setting, surrounded by pearls on a gilded metal wire, a tiara, a pair of matching earrings and a pair of matching ear clips. A pair of bracelets in twisted pearl seed design, the clasp adorned with a garnet.
Missing parts and minor imperfections.
Included is a low-carat gold ring with a tilting secret compartment, set with a mother-of-pearl inlay.
It also contains a small case comprising a pair of silver buttons set with a faceted white stone, and a button set with an opalescent stone surrounded by white stones. The interior is designed as jewellery compartments.
The set, made in France in the early 19th century, comes in an engraved case with gilded metal fittings.
A coral, garnet, cultured pearl, 18k gold and gilded metal parure from the Countess du Durat, comprising three tiaras, a necklace, a pair of ear pendants and clips. We also include a 9k gold and mother-of-pearl ring and three silver buttons set with colourless stones. French craftsmanship, early 19th century.
