BEAUTIFUL BROOCH
In yellow gold, centred with an agate cameo depicting the profile of a young woman, edged with half-pearls (not tested).
Master’s mark of Caillot, Peck & Guillemin brothers.
Late 19th century.
An 18k gold brooch with a natural pearl (not tested) and an agate cameo. Late 19th century.
Note:
Pierre Caillot settled in Paris in 1820. In 1862, his son went into partnership with Victor Peck, and the firm then employed over forty staff. With the arrival of Auguste and Hippolyte Guillemin in 1876, the firm continued to grow and was awarded a gold medal at the 1878 World’s Fair. It was acquired in 1892 by René Boivin.
