Description
A blue-and-white porcelain bowl, known as ‘Hue blue’, decorated with a dragon and a qilin battling for the sacred pearl amidst the clouds. A stylised ‘Tho’ mark at the centre of the bowl and a four-character blue underglaze mark reading ‘Noi Phu Thi Trung’ beneath the foot. Made in China for Vietnam, 19th century. Diameter: 17.3 cm. (Cracked). Bowl decorated with a dragon and a qilin contending for the sacred pearl amongst the clouds. Stylised ‘Tho’ mark at the centre of the bowl and a four-character blue underglaze mark reading ‘Nội Phủ Thị Trung’ on the base.
