A blue-and-white porcelain bowl, known as ‘Hue blue’, decorated with two dragons in the clouds chasing the sacred pearl. Edged with metal.
Marked ‘Thiệu Trị Niên Tạo’ (‘made during the reign of Thiệu Trị’) on the rim and ‘Nhat’ in blue underglaze on the base.
Made in China for Vietnam, 19th century, reign of His Majesty Thiệu Trị (1841–1847).

Bowl decorated with two dragons amidst clouds, chasing the sacred pearl. Marked ‘Thiệu Trị Niên Tạo’, meaning ‘Made during the reign of Emperor Thiệu Trị’, on the rim, and with a blue underglaze mark reading ‘Nhật’ on the base.
