1900 NINE DYNASTIC URNS OF HUE, Thê miêu, 36 ANIMALS ON THE NINE DYNASTIC URNS – 36 engravings of the animals on the nine urns. Album in-plano (38x24 cm), 36 plates with engravings on Annamite paper, paperbound, trilingual title label on the front cover. These nine bronze dynastic urns, the largest in the country – reaching up to two metres fifty in height – were cast in 1836 during the reign of His Majesty Minh-Mang, and are housed in the Thê Miêu Temple, near Hué, arranged in a symbolic layout. Dimensions: 24x39.3 cm. (Minor tears).
