Description
A pair of blue-and-white porcelain bowls, known as ‘Hué blue’, decorated with a dragon emerging from the waves, featuring a ‘Tho’ symbol of longevity. Four-character mark “Nội Phủ Thị Trung” in blue underglaze, meaning “Made for the Central Palace”. One bears an incised collector’s mark. Made in China for Vietnam, late 18th – early 19th century. Diameter: 14.8 cm and 15 cm. (Cracks and chipping, star-shaped crack and restorations). Two small dishes decorated with a dragon emerging from the waves, bearing the ‘Tho’ symbol of longevity, marked ‘Inner Main Imperial Palace’, Nội Phủ Thị Trung.
