A blue-and-white porcelain bowl, known as ‘Hue blue’, decorated with two dragons rising from the waves and chasing the sacred pearl. Edged with metal.
Blue underglaze mark consisting of four characters: ‘Thieu Tri Nien Tho’, meaning ‘Made during the reign of Thieu Tri’.
Made in China for Vietnam, 19th century, reign of His Majesty Thieu Tri.
Diameter: 11 cm.
Height: 6.6 cm.
(Small chip and very slight pitting).
Bowl decorated with two dragons emerging from the waves and pursuing the sacred pearl. Four-character blue underglaze mark reading “Thiệu Trị Niên Thọ”, meaning “Made during the reign of Emperor Thiệu Trị”.
