A blue-and-white porcelain bowl, known as ‘Hué blue’, decorated with a text in ideograms: political and governmental advice given by the Grand Counsellor Wei Zheng to King Tang Tai Zong (Tang Dynasty).
‘Nhat’ mark in blue, applied underglaze beneath the foot.
Made in China for Vietnam, 19th century.
Diameter: 18.2 cm.
(Cracked, with a chip on the foot that has been broken off and re-glued).
