A blue and white porcelain bowl, known as ‘Hué blue’, decorated with two musicians playing music on a boat (Ba Nha Tu Ki), illustrating the episode of the meeting between Baya and Zi Qi. The scene is accompanied by a poem written in Nôm calligraphy:
‘The two companions are the best of friends,
The guitar music is exquisite,
The mountains are lofty; the waters are deep blue,
Rare are those who recite poems in praise of such beauty.”
Metal-rimmed.
Marked ‘Nhat’ in blue, hidden beneath the base.
