Description
A large blue-and-white porcelain bowl, known as ‘Hue blue’, decorated with a mountainous landscape, featuring a figure crossing a bridge towards the pagoda, and embellished with the poem Ải Lĩnh Xuân Vân, 隘嶺春雲, written in Nôm script by Lord Nguyễn Phúc Chu. Metal rim. Blue underglaze mark consisting of two characters, ‘Than Ngoan’, within a double circle beneath the base. Made in China for Vietnam, 18th century. Diameter: 19.3 cm. Height: 8 cm. Bowl decorated with a mountain landscape depicting a figure crossing a bridge towards a pagoda, and inscribed with the poem “Ải Lĩnh Xuân Vân” (隘嶺春雲) in Nôm calligraphy. Marked “Thanh Ngoạn”, Lord Nguyễn Phúc Chu porcelain.
