A painter and art critic, Thai Tuan joined Ngoc Dung and Duy Thanh in Saigon around 1955 to form a renowned movement of young Vietnamese painters inspired by Fauvism and Expressionism. He settled in Orléans from 1975 onwards and returned permanently to Vietnam in 2006.
