REIGN OF HIS MAJESTY EMPEROR MINH MANG (1820–1841)
A set of Phap Lam cloisonné enamels comprising:
- A pair of multi-lobed saucers decorated with plum blossoms and bamboo branches on a midnight blue ground criss-crossed with gilt hexagonal motifs. The reverse side has a blue-green ground.
Length: 10 cm.
(Minor damage and restoration).
- A small bowl decorated with floral scrolls and a stylised Tho symbol in the centre on a green ground.
Diameter: 10.5 cm.
(Damage and repainting).
- A lidded pot decorated with floral scrolls on a yellow background. The lid is adorned with a lotus flower and a Greek fret frieze. The interior has a turquoise-blue background.
Height: 8.5 cm.
Made in the workshops of Hué, 19th century.
