1901–1955 The NGUYEN Dynasty. Collection of postcards and photographic prints. - His Majesty Emperor THANH-THAI (1889–1907) Portraits of the Emperor in court dress. A collection of postcards from the Dieulefils, Planté and Fiévet collections (some of which have been travelled), including a photographic portrait of his youngest brother, mounted on card, captioned and dated 1901 on the reverse. - His Majesty Emperor DUY THAN (1907–1916) Two postcards of the Emperor in court dress (from the Dieulefils collection). - His Majesty Emperor KHAI-DINH (1916–1925) A reception with senior French dignitaries and high-ranking court officials. A large-scale print, framed under glass. Dimensions: 17.8 x 12.8 cm. - His Majesty Emperor BAO-DAI (1926–1945) Three photographic prints, including one of His Majesty Bao Dai taking possession of his kingdom upon his return from France, and a colour envelope bearing his effigy, postmarked in Saigon on 7 September 1945. Also included: - A collection of postcards depicting the Court of Hué: the high-ranking officials, the royal palace, the commander of the royal guard… (including items from the Dieulefis collection, Debeaux frères, and a postcard published by the French Indochina Colonial Agency). That is, around twenty postcards. - A cover page on thick paper, hand-titled ‘French Indochina – Hué. Its Palace – Its Tombs, General Government of Indochina’. In the top left-hand corner, the handwritten inscription ‘H. Potier / xx November 1924 (Hanoi)’. A silver gelatin print has been mounted in the bottom right-hand corner, depicting three figures (probably colonial officials) posing behind a pine tree in a garden within the Imperial City of Hué.
