Ceremonial sword, with a single-branch hilt in gilded bronze featuring a scroll-patterned guard and two quillons bearing the initials ‘VR’ of Queen Victoria Regina (1819–1901) beneath a royal crown and surrounded by palm fronds; the tang is filigree-worked, the pommel in the shape of a royal crown; the steel blade is engraved halfway down with the initials ‘VR’ of Queen Victoria Regina beneath a royal crown, surrounded by palm fronds and floral scrolls, and marked at the base ‘M(anufa)c(dure) Coulaux’.
