Cavalry officer’s sabre, Model 1883, with a three-pronged guard in gilded bronze, partially chased with foliage motifs; a filigree wooden hilt; and a straight, hollow-edged steel blade with a single cutting edge. With its steel scabbard featuring a single suspension ring. Minor oxidation. Dated to the Third Republic, late 19th century. The blade is unsigned. L. 93 cm (blade). L. 108 cm (overall).
