Description
Chest of drawers
Mahogany, amaranth and light wood veneer on an oak base.
It features three front drawers separated by cross-bars. Simulated fluting decoration on the top drawer and the side panels; the others are framed with mouldings. It stands on four tapered legs finished with brass feet.
Moulded grey Sainte-Anne marble top.
Louis XVI period
Later brass ornamentation on the drawer pulls, keyholes and feet.
Height 86.5, Length 128, Depth 57.5 cm.
Minor restoration work.
Provenance: the collection of Jaques Guérin (1880–1962), Chief Curator of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs and the Musée Nissim de Camondo, Paris. His descendants.
