Description
René Lalique (French, 1860–1945) Set of 12 Champagne flutes, ‘Barr’ model Press-moulded white glass with a filigree-patterned drawn-glass stem. The upper part is decorated with a mask depicting a woman’s face. Length: 12.3 cm. Two are broken. Presented in their original case. Bibliography: Félix Marcilhac, “René Lalique 1860–1945 – Master Glassmaker – Analysis of the Work and Catalogue Raisonné”, Paris, Éditions de l’Amateur, 1994, reproduced under No. 3893, p. 816. Design created on 19 January 1932. Featured in the 1937 price list; production ceased after 1947; available in a case containing 6 or 12 pieces.
