Sienna marble and patinated bronze.
The dial, set within a frame and featuring Roman numerals for the hours, is encircled by the signs of the zodiac. It is flanked by a figure of Sappho reading. The rectangular base is adorned with a frieze of water leaves. It rests on four winged claw feet.
Suspended by a wire.
Restoration period.
Height 68, Width 52, Depth 22 cm.
Minor imperfections; the clockmaker’s name has been erased; a marble plaque has been replaced by a small wooden one.
