Attributed to Guillaume Frederic Romny (French, 1786–1854) Portrait of a Boy in a Cap, 1820 Portrait of Etienne Rey with a Wooden Horse, 1819 Canvases. The boy in the cap bears the monogram ‘?F?’ and is dated 1820. Etienne Rey is inscribed on the stretcher: ‘Etienne Rey, painted in 1819 at the age of 2 by Romny’. Height 46.5, width 37 cm. Damage and losses. Two gilded wooden frames. Provenance: Marie-Luce Picot collection (Paris, First Communion in 1863 at Saint-Germain-l’Auxerroy); passed down through the family.
